Property description: I have 2 small ranches available to lease in far west Texas, these are economically priced leases with no frills and located in the heart of the Big Bend region. Not for the faint of heart or road hunters. Lease #1 2000 acres in Presdio county bordered by Big Bend State park and large ranch on the other and small ranch to south. Located only 3/4mile off the highway and 35 minutes to town (Presidio). I have a couple water troughs I haul in water to almost year round and we feed light protein just to keep the deer coming in. There are not a ton of deer in this country but possibilities of a whopper are there. Average mature deer is 150" to 160" respectably. Ranch has gently rolling hills and washes, to high bluffs, a large bowl, and big canyon on the western edge. A lot of varried terrain. This is the type of ranch you will need to get up high and sit and glass, not stomp around and run all the deer out day 1. Hunted by 1 person last year and they passed on a young 145in or so 8 point then hot weather slowed deer movement to a minimum, not hunted the year prior, and year before that only a management hunt. This lease is for the 2 week rifle season only, I would conisder allowing you to hunt a couple days during archery season on a weekend I was not conducting a hunt on the ranch. Total cost is $3995.00 TOTAL for 2 to 3 hunters. Would prefer 2 but will take 3 if it means leasing the place soon. I would like hunters to set up a protein feeder or two and even a bigger water trough(s) just to help improve the ranch. I can fill the protein feeders for you at your own expense. Flexible on how we do that. Bag Limit is 1 Mature Mule deer buck, 1 javelina, and Predators per hunter. No quail or Aoudad may be hunted. No does, and no there are not any whitetail here sorry. The deer are rutting right now so it is a perfect time to see what is out there. Lease #2- Couple hundred acres south of Alpine borders Big Bend national park on one side. Ranch is split into 3 pastures and each pasture has water and feed. They are 1 mile to 1.5 miles apart allowing you to hunt completely different areas. Yes it is a small ranch but offers high success with some of the only feed and water around. Year before last there was a great deer population out here, drought took a bit of a toll last year but still seeing some good bucks. Year round water and corn spin feeders on ranch as of right now. We are upgrading our troughs to much larger ones and will start feeding protein this spring. Deer quality varies, its a fun ranch to hunt and you will see deer. Average deer is 120" to 140" but with the national park being our border I have seen some of the biggest bucks of my life near this fence line. Cost is $1500 Per Hunter and Im looking for a group of 3. I will cover the cost of the feed and water. Access to the ranch for the entire 2 week rifle season, you will be the only hunters. I will also allow you to hunt a couple days during archery season as well where yes you may harvest 1 mule deer doe. Bag Limit is 1 mule deer buck, 2 javelina, predators, and if you archery hunt a doe per hunter. Mike 915-328-0645 Serious inquiries only. This is rough and remote country. It takes me a lot of time and $$ to travel to these properties to show you around.
