Application fees

  1. Special Permit Categories:
    • All application fees are non-refundable.
    • Youth Only categories require no application fees (youth and supervising adults).
    • Application fees are required for each adult (17 or older) per application.
    • Adult application fees are $3 per adult, except Private Lands and Guided Hunt categories, which are $10.
  2. US Forest Service Antlerless Deer Permits:
    • These hunt categories have no application fees.
    • A current Annual Public Hunting Permit is required for applicants age 17 and older to apply.
  3. E-Postcard Selection Hunts:
    • These hunt categories have no application fees.
    • A current Annual Public Hunting Permit is required for applicants age 17 and older to apply.
  4. National Wildlife Refuge Hunts:
    • All application fees are non-refundable.
    • Youth Only categories require no application fees (youth and supervising adults).
    • Application fees are required for each adult (17 or older) per application.
    • Adult application fees are $3 per application.

Permit fees

  1. Special Permit Categories:
    • Once permits are issued, there will be no refund of permit fees unless the department cancels the hunt.
    • Permit fees apply to adults (17 or older).
    • There is no permit fee for youth under 17 years old.
    • Permit fees are $80 (standard 2-3 day hunt) or $130 (extended 4-5 day hunt).
    • Standard Hunt Periods usually are for a 48-hour period, which runs from noon of day 1 until noon of day 3. Standard Alligator hunt periods run from noon of day 1 until noon of day 2.
    • Extended hunt periods usually run from noon of day 1 until noon of day 4 or 5.
  2. US Forest Service Antlerless Deer Permits:
    • These hunt categories have no additional permit fees.
    • Antlerless Deer Permits will be mailed to successful applicants.
    • Application for these hunts requires each adult hunter and supervising adult to possess an Annual Permit Hunting Permit (APH) valid for the time of the hunt. APH Permits can be bought at any hunting/fishing license vendor.
    • An APH and Texas hunting license is required to participate in these hunts.
